Angels vs. Nationals
June 27, 2011

These seats were amazing, but involved a bit of anxiety for home run balls to fly at our heads. The night started with a strange detour through Diamond Bar, continued with me spilling my drink down my shirt. (Not my fault as the sales person filled it super full.) We sat next to National fans which made for great entertainment. It was a very good game which went into a 10th inning. (Angels 4-3)

Finish the night off with a Wendy's run and it was a good night.

Big accomplishment of the day?
Petting a shark! It doesn't make a difference to me that
they are friendly Bamboo sharks.
A SHARK is a SHARK and it totally counts!

Take a lovely drive on a sunny weekend and
you'll find yourself in the quaint Danish town of Solvang.

A Solvang trip is not complete without Aebleskivers. Yum!

Sometimes I think back on occasions or replay conversations I've had with people. One in particular makes me laugh every time I think about it.

I was on a date.

Man: "I like your sense of style."
Me: "Well, thank you."
Man: "Yeah, you always look so....homely."
Me: (blank perplexed look trying to find the compliment in the statement)
Man: (realizes the word he used)"OH! NO NO NO! Not THAT kind of homely. I mean you look like one of those well-dressed, put-together women-COMFY, yet stylish. Like the moms that are always on the go, but are in control and looking good! And even if you are just staying home you are put together."
Me: "Hmmm...Thank you?" (Laugh uncomfortably and change the subject to try to save him from digging a deeper hole and to draw attention away from the fact he said I look like a mom).

Advice: NEVER. EVER. EVER. Use the word "HOMELY" to describe a woman.

Read the article. Watch the video.
(Art is my best friend/sister/roommate's father.)
If I remember correctly it wasn't too long ago that she
told me they had found her father's family.

What an amazing adventure!
I may or may not have cried. :)
