[become as a little child]

Riding in the backseat of the car with Abby today, I pulled out this exact picture from my purse. A friend had given it to me at church on Sunday with a sweet little note written on the back.

Abby looked at the picture and states, "That's Jesus."

She then pointed to the child, looked up at me with her inquisitive eye and asks, "Is that me?"

If we have a heart to learn and a willingness to follow the example of children, their divine attributes can hold a key to unlocking our own spiritual growth.

[poet didn't know it]

Around 1997 I had a poem published in a children's poetry book.

I remember it involved thunder, lightening, and the future.

I was thinking today that I wish I knew where to find said book.

And why didn't I get a copy back in 1997?

Pretty cool, but I have no proof.

Oh well, I know the truth.

I am a published poet.

Nice job, 9 year old me!

"I'm gonna live forever
I'm gonna learn how to fly

I feel it coming together
People will see me and cry

I'm gonna make it to heaven
Light up the sky like a flame

I'm gonna live forever
Baby remember my name..."

On Wednesday, two of my friends were finalists in a month long singing competition. Each contestant performed two songs and a panel of judges critiqued (although they seemed to comment more on the contestants clothing than their actual singing).

[Both pictured above] Francesca performed "Walk Away" (Kelly Clarkson) and "I Keep on Falling" (Alicia Keys). Greg performed "Back at One" (Brian McKnight) and "She's Out of My Life" (Michael Jackson). Both did an amazing job, they were beat out by much older and experienced performers however.
